Base Salary
$195k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship AI agents, APIs, and applications on Affirm’s internal platform, owning architecture through production maintenance.
- Handle containerization, networking, secrets, deployment, monitoring, and production issue resolution.
- Integrate AI systems with Workday, Notion, Snowflake, and case management tools using governed content.
- Navigate security and data governance controls for systems handling employee data.
- Design reliability infrastructure for multi-model LLM services, including structured output validation, fallback chains, circuit breakers, and hallucination-quality controls.
- Scope problems with People Operations stakeholders, make architecture decisions, and communicate technical constraints.
- Contribute to the shared Python codebase, dbt models, and Snowflake infrastructure.
Requirements
- Production software engineering experience building, deploying, and maintaining applications is required.
- Comfort with Python and understanding of databases, APIs, authentication, hosting, and deployment pipelines are required.
- Experience with version control, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization is required.
- Ability to make architecture decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and read code critically is required.
- Demonstrated experience creating and shipping systems, tools, or platforms from loosely defined problems is required.
- Ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical requirements is required.
