Base Salary
$153k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team goals while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems
- Set technical direction, drive architectural decisions, and define long-term technical strategy for full-stack development
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs
- Own team operations and availability by establishing monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues
- Create and monitor operational metrics, escalate issues, and support keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts
- Set and improve code review and design standards and advocate for them through writing and technical talks
- Mentor engineers, provide feedback and guidance, and help develop team talent
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience leading significant mobile initiatives using React Native or native technologies, including architecture, cross-functional launches, and production reliability
- Experience working across React Native and native Swift/Kotlin boundaries, debugging platform-specific issues, and improving developer tooling, CI/CD, and release processes
- Experience implementing experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation in mobile applications
- Experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue
- Proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript
- Experience designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
- Ability to define technical plans and create elegant, simple, extensible designs for significant features or system components
- Ability to make significant changes in large codebases safely using appropriate tools and practices
- Either equivalent practical experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team
