Responsibilities
- Design and develop full-stack Java and Spring Boot components and migrate legacy components to the target architecture.
- Design and develop APIs supporting front-end functionality and consumption by partner systems.
- Create application and database data models for data persistence.
- Analyze business requirements and design technical solutions with business analysts, engineers, vendor partners, and business owners.
- Write technical specifications and participate in software design meetings.
- Develop automated unit, component, and scenario tests and perform code reviews.
- Package, deploy, maintain, and support service and infrastructure components.
- Mentor and guide less experienced software development staff.
- Follow secure coding practices and company software development lifecycle standards.
- Travel up to 10% to the Jacksonville, Florida office and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
- Four to seven years of software engineering work experience.
- Experience with Java development technologies and Spring or Spring Boot frameworks.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes-based platforms such as OpenShift, EKS/ECS, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
- Preferred experience developing RESTful services and microservices applications, working with Kafka, and building cloud-native applications.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL and PostgreSQL and nonrelational databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
- Experience with XML parsing, CI/CD pipelines, source code management tools, Agile SDLC practices, and testing techniques.
- Preferred familiarity with Azure DevOps, TFS, Jira, or Git and proficiency with unit, component, scenario, or test-driven development practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Any cloud certification, such as AWS, Azure, or OCP, is a plus.
