Responsibilities
- Design and implement C++ software modules for low-latency, high-throughput real-time systems.
- Develop build scripts, unit tests, integration tests, performance tests, software packaging, and configuration management.
- Participate in code and design reviews and contribute to technical specifications, product documentation, and unit test plans.
- Assist with field problem resolution and partner with QA and project collaborators to deliver and maintain products.
- Mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers and help establish the Bangkok team’s culture and system-level programming community.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience developing multithreaded C++ applications and understanding the performance implications of libraries such as C++ STL.
- Strong experience developing application or backend software on Linux, including Linux command-line tools.
- Experience with Makefile and CMake build systems.
- Experience with a real-time C++ project involving multithreaded business applications, embedded systems or IoT, games, or low-latency/high-throughput network applications.
- Good understanding of operating system concepts such as memory management and caching.
- Hands-on experience with network programming using sockets, TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, and platform socket APIs.
- Strong English writing and verbal communication skills and ability to work partially in US hours.
- Experience developing on Windows is desirable.
- Experience with Rust, Go, C#, Python, or another system-programming language is desirable.
- Experience working with legacy C++98 code and modernizing it toward C++11 or later is desirable.
- Experience using Linux POSIX APIs, including threading, file systems, I/O multiplexing, and signal processing, is desirable.
- Exposure to financial market data, investment, or trading is desirable.
