Java Developer
TELUS DigitalResponsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Java/Spring Boot applications in a cloud-native AWS environment.
- Implement core service logic and APIs for the Active Outage Management application.
- Integrate AWS services and distributed messaging systems.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests.
- Participate in parallel-run, shadow-traffic, and validation activities.
- Use Git workflows including feature branching, merge requests, and CI pipelines.
- Collaborate with an agile team during daily standups and design discussions.
- Communicate clearly with leadership and technical teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Java development experience.
- At least 2 years of Spring Boot experience.
- Hands-on experience with at least three of AWS ECS, SQS, SNS, Aurora PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, and EventBridge.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, transactions, and indexing strategies.
- Experience with Kafka or another distributed messaging system.
- Solid unit and integration testing practices.
- Proficiency with Git workflows, feature branching, merge requests, and CI pipelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work 9 AM–6 PM IST with at least four hours of daily overlap with the US Eastern time zone.
