Base Salary

$142k - $213k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance back-office trading applications.
  • Design and deliver distributed, event-driven microservices using Kafka, Solace, Tibco, and MQ.
  • Implement trunk-based development, feature flags, progressive delivery, continuous integration, and automated testing practices.
  • Apply test-driven and behavior-driven development to maintain code quality, test coverage, and production reliability.
  • Drive CI/CD, DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, secure coding, vulnerability assessment, and deployment improvements.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical design documentation and resilient system architectures.
  • Partner with DevOps teams on deployment pipelines, observability, monitoring, and production resilience.
  • Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams on critical trading systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead technical discussions while fostering engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on production coding experience with Kotlin, Java, and Python.
  • Deep expertise in microservices architecture, distributed systems, Spring Boot, high availability, fault tolerance, and low-latency computing.
  • Proficiency with event-driven and messaging systems including Kafka, Solace, Tibco, and MQ.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift in containerized, cloud-native environments.
  • Solid experience with relational databases, particularly Oracle SQL, in high-performance transactional systems.
  • Experience with trunk-based development, feature flags, progressive delivery, TDD, BDD, automation-first testing, and high test coverage.
  • Proficiency designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, with knowledge of DevOps, secure coding, and vulnerability assessment practices.
  • Experience conducting code reviews, leading technical discussions, and mentoring engineers in cross-functional product teams.
  • Familiarity with performance tuning, observability, and production monitoring for distributed, high-availability financial systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience required; a master’s degree is preferred.
