Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Contribute to software architecture, component design, data flows, integration patterns, interaction flows, and technical documentation for the SWAFS GovCloud solution.
- Translate mission and engineering requirements into architectural designs, development artifacts, user stories, and sprint-level tasks.
- Develop and review primarily Java application code and promote coding standards, design guidelines, and architectural best practices.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including definition, design, implementation, unit testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Support Spring-based event-driven integrations, REST API design, data and service integration architecture, and SaaS application delivery.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline design, DevSecOps practices, source-code management, build and release management, and software testing.
- Conduct peer code and design reviews and produce architectural decision records, technical specifications, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with Senior Architects, Chief Systems Engineers, Product Owners, and broader software architecture teams.
- Support customer-facing architecture and software functionality presentations, technical reviews, and demonstrations.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a related field and 7+ years of relevant software development experience, or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience, or master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of progressive software development experience; an additional four years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- Strong knowledge of software design principles, development best practices, and applicable frameworks.
- Demonstrated Java software development experience, including Spring and Spring Kafka or comparable event-driven messaging technologies.
- Experience using GitLab for source control, collaboration, or CI/CD and experience developing and executing software test plans, procedures, and cases.
- Experience deploying to high-side or restricted-access environments and supporting software in operational environments.
- Experience documenting, tracking, and resolving software defects and bugs and supporting software demonstrations or customer-facing events.
- Minimum active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, which must be maintained.
- Preferred qualifications include active TS/SCI clearance, software architecture experience, space or aerospace systems experience, high-TRL operational transition experience, automated testing, DevSecOps, UML, DoDAF, AWS, team leadership or mentoring, AI-assisted development tools, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification or equivalent cloud architecture experience.
