Responsibilities
- Design and maintain distributed database systems providing low-latency, strongly consistent data access.
- Implement and optimize replication, consensus, and caching mechanisms for availability and performance.
- Operate production systems, participate in on-call rotation, and maintain high availability and data durability.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure and Product teams to assess requirements and develop a mid- to long-term roadmap.
- Contribute to system design reviews, postmortems, and reliability improvements.
- Write efficient, high-quality Go and Rust code for performance-critical systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related coding-focused technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems involving replication, consistency, partitioning, and fault tolerance.
- Experience building databases, storage systems, or large-scale data infrastructure.
- Programming and debugging proficiency in languages such as Python, Go, Rust, C, C++, or Java.
- Familiarity with consensus and coordination systems such as Raft, Paxos, and ZooKeeper.
- Strong debugging and performance analysis skills.
- Preferred: familiarity with semaphores and mutexes, distributed databases or storage systems, and storage data structures such as LSM trees, B-trees, and hash indexes.

- Poland-based compensation range of 272 000 zł—368 000 zł PLN per year.
- Occasional on-call work may be required to address bugs, outages, and other operational issues.
