Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across squads and set engineering direction and standards.
- Design, build, and evolve secure, scalable, resilient software platforms.
- Lead architecture and design decisions for complex distributed systems.
- Drive modernization using cloud-native and event-driven architectures.
- Champion software quality, testing, observability, security, and operational excellence.
- Own solutions end-to-end from design and development through deployment, production operations, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor engineers and grow technical capability across teams.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, and Operations teams.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices, reusable platform capabilities, and modern software delivery techniques.
Requirements
- Experienced software engineer with deep expertise in several relevant technical areas.
- Experience with Node.js and TypeScript for backend development.
- Experience building APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
- Experience designing scalable, high-performance backend systems.
- Experience with cloud-native engineering and platform technologies, including AWS, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience building observable and resilient production systems.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka or similar messaging platforms, microservices, distributed systems, API-first design, scalability, resilience, and performance optimization.
- Experience leading technical direction across multiple teams or initiatives.
- Experience with architecture and solution design, coaching and mentoring engineers, driving engineering standards, and owning software across its full lifecycle.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and architecture teams.
