Responsibilities
- Own assigned applications end to end across their lifecycle, including running, maintaining, improving, and decommissioning a largely on-premises legacy application portfolio.
- Monitor application health, batch jobs, and integration points; use AI-assisted anomaly detection and automate routine remediation.
- Execute application configuration changes and deployments through Jenkins and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
- Handle operational requests such as access provisioning and data corrections, as well as log rotation, release management, and patch management.
- Execute failover and disaster recovery procedures, validate backups against RTO/RPO targets, monitor capacity and performance, and define SLOs.
- Maintain runbooks and knowledge articles, participate in on-call support, and diagnose and resolve escalated incidents within SLA timelines.
- Investigate recurring incidents, maintain the Known Error Database, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Support security operations, resilience testing, ICT asset inventories, incident records, audit evidence, vulnerability remediation, security patching, access recertification, and least-privilege reviews.
- Monitor technology trends and recommend future technology directions, including AI and automation, to improve operating efficiency and customer service.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in system engineering and application operations, such as network, server, security, or database operations.
- Strong Linux administration experience and production experience operating IBM WebSphere and nginx.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitHub Advanced Security, secure development, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
- Experience operating Kubernetes at operator or workload level on Amazon EKS and Azure Kubernetes Service, with AWS and Azure network architecture knowledge.
- Experience with Dynatrace, OpenSearch, metrics, logs, traces, and defining and meeting SLOs.
- Scripting and automation experience, such as Python, plus practical experience applying AI to operations through AI-assisted code generation or review or ML-based alerting.
- Experience with IT architecture management and IT security tools.
- A degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Cloud or Kubernetes certification is desirable.
- Experience in regulated environments such as financial services or insurance, plus exposure to MLOps or FinOps, is desirable.
