Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and architectural direction for the Directory domain across backend and frontend services.
- Guide the Ruby-to-Go migration and oversee the Change Data Capture pipeline syncing Go services with the legacy Ruby monolith.
- Design and evolve performant, well-modeled GraphQL APIs within a federated gateway architecture.
- Champion Kafka-based event streaming and ensure Directory events are reliable, observable, and consumable by other teams.
- Establish observability, automated unit/integration/end-to-end testing, and reliable containerized deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Product leadership, and adjacent domain teams on shared technical direction.
- Support maintenance of existing Ruby on Rails and NestJS services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience architecting, scaling, and maintaining complex distributed backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Go and experience with domain-driven service boundaries; experience with accounts, organizations, users, or permissions is a plus.
- Production experience with CQRS and/or Event Sourcing patterns is preferred.
- Hands-on GraphQL experience, including schema design and federated gateway architectures.
- Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming systems and familiarity with Change Data Capture patterns.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, modern ORM patterns, and strong data consistency requirements.
- Solid frontend experience with TypeScript and React 18+ and familiarity with data-fetching and routing patterns in single-page applications.
- Strong communication skills and a track record of influencing technical direction across teams and stakeholders.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to work on federal government projects requiring FedRAMP authorization.
