Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and deployment of SDN solutions including virtual networks, overlays, logical switches and routers, controllers, VPCs, gateways, VPNs, and BGP connectivity.
- Design and enforce microsegmentation, application security, Zero Trust, allowlist and denylist policies, quarantine mechanisms, and dynamic security policies.
- Configure SDN controllers, edge gateways, security policies, L2 extensions, VPN tunnels, and BGP sessions in production environments.
- Manage and optimize VMware and Nutanix virtualization platforms and administer orchestration and lifecycle management tools.
- Support workload and network migrations, hybrid cloud architectures, network visibility, flow analytics, compliance integration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and high availability.
- Collaborate with enterprise network, security, compute, and storage teams; engage customers; translate business requirements into technical architectures; and mentor junior consultants.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data center virtualization and SDN solutions.
- Strong knowledge of VLANs, routing, NAT, VPNs, BGP, firewalls, VXLAN, Geneve, network overlays, microsegmentation, and Zero Trust architecture.
- Hands-on experience with at least one SDN platform such as VMware NSX, Nutanix Flow, or Cisco ACI, plus experience with VMware ESXi, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V, or an equivalent hypervisor.
- Experience integrating virtual and physical networks and troubleshooting with CLI, APIs, and network analysis tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline.
- Strong consulting, customer engagement, stakeholder management, communication, documentation, presentation, problem-solving, and mentoring abilities.
- Preferred certifications include VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, CCNP Data Centre, and Nutanix NCP.
- Automation and scripting with REST APIs, PowerShell, or Python; Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or Ansible; hybrid or multi-cloud networking with AWS, Azure, or GCP; and flow analytics or monitoring experience are trainable or developable skills.
