Platform Engineer

Responsibilities
- Develop software solutions and tools for cloud infrastructure management, deployment, monitoring, alerting, and operations automation.
- Build and maintain an internal platform using purpose-built code and industry-standard tools to improve team effectiveness and reduce operational toil.
- Automate cloud-provider interactions with Infrastructure as Code and create immutable, reproducible deployments.
- Maintain live services by measuring availability, latency, performance, and reliability, and participate in incident response and blameless postmortems.
- Implement and manage security event routing and SIEM platforms in hybrid multi-cloud environments.
- Design and build highly available, high-throughput, secure, privacy-conscious, petabyte-scale data and analytics systems.
- Partner with cybersecurity architecture and engineering leadership and cross-functional security teams to deliver platform capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of production engineering and management experience covering deployment, release, maintenance, and migration.
- At least 5 years of production software development using a high-level language such as Python, Golang, Ruby, or JavaScript.
- At least 3 years of medium- to large-scale production infrastructure management with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another major cloud provider.
- Experience building and managing cybersecurity platforms such as Splunk, Sentinel, ELK, Anvilogic, Crog, or Databricks.
- Strong expertise in operations and workflow automation with tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Production experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, AWS CDK, or similar tools.
- Deep understanding and production experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines such as Jenkins, Harness, Spinnaker, or Argo CD.
- Understanding of cloud security principles and experience securing cloud platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot and measure complex cloud environments and strong understanding of Linux networking, filesystems, kernel, and isolation fundamentals.
- Experience with modern observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog and understanding of distributed-systems design.
- Ability to translate business requirements into production-ready software components, take end-to-end ownership, work autonomously, and communicate effectively.
