Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Architect and manage Docker-based containerized environments and cloud container services.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and proactive issue-resolution systems.
  • Develop and maintain automated security-scanning and vulnerability-management pipelines.
  • Automate provisioning, patching, and version upgrades for cloud databases and containerized applications.
  • Maintain application configuration, secrets, and certificates.
  • Partner with software engineering, security, and product teams to foster DevOps practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Prototype and deploy AI models, Model Context Protocol servers, and proofs of concept.
  • Perform special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in computer science plus three years of progressively responsible IT experience, including at least 18 months in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus four years of progressively responsible IT experience, including the required administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience.
  • Four-year high school diploma or equivalent plus six years of progressively responsible IT experience, including the required administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience.
  • A qualifying combination of education and experience, with at least a four-year high school diploma or equivalent, at least three years of relevant IT experience, and at least 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience.
  • Relevant undergraduate or graduate credits may substitute for limited portions of the required IT experience, but not for the required 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience.
  • Candidates must be permanent employees in the title or reachable on the current civil service list; qualified employees in other civil service titles may also submit resumes for consideration.
