Responsibilities
- Lead technical response for high-priority incidents by assessing severity and impact, coordinating responders, and driving restoration.
- Monitor critical service health and business indicators, identify risks early, and take preventative action.
- Serve as the senior technical escalation point during complex live-site events and guide mitigation, recovery, and prioritization.
- Partner with engineering, architecture, SRE, and operations teams to improve availability through recovery strategies, monitoring, alerting, automation, and operational tooling.
- Drive incident documentation, stakeholder communications, emergency change support, maintenance oversight, drills, audits, and post-incident improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, plus 5+ years in site reliability engineering, production operations, incident management, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering.
- Experience supporting highly scaled internet or platform environments with troubleshooting across infrastructure, compute, containers, networking, storage, databases, DNS, load balancing, observability, and high availability.
- Proficiency creating software solutions for task automation using Go, Python, Java, Node.js, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong incident leadership, operational judgment, rapid triage, prioritization, root-cause analysis, and decision-making under pressure.
- Excellent communication and influence skills across engineers, senior leaders, and non-technical partners.
- Preferred experience includes incident command, major incident management, senior on-shift technical leadership, large-scale consumer platforms, executive incident communications, monitoring and response automation improvements, and postmortem effectiveness.

- The role is based in Dublin, Ireland and follows a fixed day-shift schedule of four consecutive 10-hour shifts, including one weekend day.
- This is an on-shift operational role with no on-call work outside scheduled hours.
