Responsibilities
- Build scaling tools and features for Crusoe’s Managed Kubernetes and Managed VM platforms.
- Monitor alerts, logs, metrics, SLIs, and SLOs to maintain infrastructure reliability and performance.
- Participate in incident response drills, root cause analysis, post-mortems, and proactive remediation.
- Automate common error resolution and develop tools to improve monitoring and observability.
- Collaborate with software engineers on resilient code, review changes before deployment, and advise on best practices.
- Support planning for new data center deployments and retrofits, while documenting work and sharing knowledge.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of professional Production Engineer experience.
- Experience building Kubernetes platforms or Kubernetes controllers.
- Exposure to server-class hardware and provisioning.
- Understanding of distributed systems architecture, reliability, scaling, and common design patterns.
- Basic understanding of infrastructure design and operational trade-offs involving networking, storage, and RPC serving.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Go.
- Exposure to observability tooling and practices for logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments and understanding of TCP/IP and network programming.
- Awareness of basic information security best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or self-education in computer science fundamentals.
- Strong communication skills and alignment with company values.
