Base Salary
$165k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support high-throughput, highly available, distributed, multi-tenant, cloud-native systems.
- Lead development and maintenance of key features for Amazon OpenSearch Service.
- Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems operating across AWS regions.
- Develop robust, efficient, and maintainable code, primarily in Java and Rust.
- Solve problems involving data ingestion, auto-scaling, data storage, search optimization, query optimization, cluster management, and security.
- Prototype and validate design approaches with teammates and translate business and functional requirements into deliverables.
- Identify and advocate for operational improvements that reduce maintenance and development costs.
- Collaborate with technology leaders and a cross-functional engineering team in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Ability to investigate design approaches, prototype solutions, validate them through testing, and work effectively with ambiguity.
