Staff Robotics Software Engineer, Air Vehicle Autonomy

Responsibilities
- Write and maintain core libraries and services for collaborative teams of robots, including motion deconfliction and contingency management for fast-mover air vehicles.
- Own major feature development and rollout for complex autonomy capabilities, including terminal-phase autonomy and testing on live surrogates.
- Collaborate with vehicle hardware teams, third-party hardware teams, and operational subject matter experts to align requirements and iterate product designs.
Requirements
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, controls, or related system performance metrics.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, set technical direction, and manage full project lifecycles from concept to deployment.
- Deep understanding of integrating sensor systems and applying techniques for perception and decision-making.
- Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
- Experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems.
- A master's degree or PhD is preferred.
- Python, Rust, and/or Go experience is preferred.
- Experience programming for embedded and physical devices is preferred.
- Experience with multi-agent coordination of UAVs is preferred.
- Experience with complex frame transformation problems, such as target localization or multi-degree-of-freedom robotic arms, is preferred.
