Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Java applications that meet design, non-functional, coding, and security requirements.
  • Design products and own application designs end to end during a migration and modernization program.
  • Create unit tests, perform unit and integration testing, support QA and user acceptance testing, and respond to user queries.
  • Practice automated testing and continuous integration while participating in peer reviews and improving code quality.
  • Lead responsible adoption and validation of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and automation tools.
  • Mentor junior developers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, work reviews, and skill development.
  • Analyze programs, troubleshoot production issues, identify performance improvements, and implement tuning measures.
  • Collaborate with regional and global technology teams and support change management and release processes.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on coding experience in one or more programming languages, including Java.
  • Experience designing and implementing applications with Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment, including database querying languages.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, security, and compliant engineering adoption.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies, continuous integration and delivery, application resiliency, and security.
  • Knowledge of software applications and technical processes in a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
