Base Salary

$175k - $195k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable, resilient, high-performance enterprise applications and distributed systems using Java and cloud-native technologies.
  • Lead the architecture and development of event-driven systems using Kafka, microservices, asynchronous processing, and distributed messaging patterns.
  • Build and support applications in AWS using EKS, ECS, MSK, Aurora Postgres, S3, Lambda, and related services.
  • Design and optimize relational data models, SQL queries, and large-scale transactional processing solutions using PostgreSQL.
  • Develop REST APIs, backend services, integration frameworks, and real-time data processing solutions.
  • Lead technical design reviews, engineering standards, architecture governance, and delivery oversight across engineering squads and vendor teams.
  • Oversee architecture, development, testing, DevOps, operational readiness, and production support activities through end-to-end delivery.
  • Create, review, and enforce automated unit, integration, functional, API, and BDD-based testing strategies.
  • Apply observability, monitoring, resiliency testing, DevSecOps practices, and operational excellence standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and resolution of complex distributed-system and production issues.
  • Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices, modernization strategies, and AI-assisted software delivery.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, infrastructure teams, and engineering leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise-scale distributed systems and high-volume transactional platforms.
  • Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, event-driven architectures, AWS cloud platforms, cloud-native services, PostgreSQL, and relational database performance optimization.
  • Experience with microservices, APIs, asynchronous processing, distributed-systems patterns, and scalable fault-tolerant architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and oversee delivery execution across multiple engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, resiliency, observability, operational support, and performance engineering.
  • Daily hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to use AI tools for software design, code generation, refactoring, debugging, testing, API specifications, BDD scenarios, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to establish AI-assisted engineering practices while maintaining architecture, quality, maintainability, security, governance, and risk-management standards.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
