Responsibilities
- Own packaging, deployment, onboarding, adoption, and day-to-day operation of the Moderne and OpenRewrite developer tooling solution.
- Deploy and operate the platform on HSBC’s Kubernetes-based hosting platform or, when needed, VM hosting.
- Author Kubernetes manifests and CI/CD pipelines, and manage monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Partner with vendor professional services and internal engineering teams to plan and execute platform rollout across multiple teams.
- Provide technical guidance, integration support, troubleshooting, and adoption best practices to internal teams.
- Develop custom OpenRewrite recipes in Java, lightweight Angular UI features, and integrations with internal systems.
- Participate in technical design discussions, evaluate trade-offs, document outcomes, and drive decisions through implementation.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 8–10 years of professional experience.
- Strong production-grade Kubernetes and Docker expertise, including deployment patterns, configuration management, and troubleshooting.
- CI/CD engineering experience with Jenkins and scripting languages such as Shell, Groovy, and/or Python.
- Experience with observability and artifact-management tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Nexus or equivalents.
- Hands-on Java and Spring Boot software engineering experience, with familiarity with Angular and Node.js.
- Experience with OpenRewrite or large-scale codebase modernization is desirable.
- Cloud and infrastructure-as-code experience, ideally with AWS services including EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, ECS, and CodeBuild, plus Terraform.
- Ability to work independently, communicate clearly in spoken and written English, navigate stakeholders and dependencies, and apply SOLID and other architectural principles.
