Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver high-quality software solutions to complex problems.
- Develop and maintain Scala-based backend microservices and distributed systems.
- Work across the full engineering lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Build or support production data-processing pipelines, including batch, ETL, and analytics pipelines.
- Improve data quality and integrity through data cleansing, parsing, and standardization.
- Ensure solutions work effectively within the wider system and product architecture.
Requirements
- Commercial experience with Scala and functional programming, or relevant commercial experience such as Java combined with non-commercial Scala experience.
- Experience across the full engineering lifecycle from design and implementation through testing and deployment.
- Experience with DevOps tooling, automation, and related approaches.
- Ability to design well-engineered solutions and take a broad system-level approach to problem solving.
- Experience with Spark, Hadoop, or Elasticsearch is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience building production data-processing, ETL, or analytics pipelines is beneficial.
- Experience improving data quality and integrity through data manipulation is beneficial.
