Base Salary
$114k - $171k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-volume, real-time big data pipelines and distributed systems using Java and Kafka.
- Architect data solutions that meet enterprise standards for reliability, performance, maintainability, compliance, and governance.
- Deploy and manage containerized big data workloads and microservices on ECS, Red Hat OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to deliver system enhancements and new product capabilities.
- Define and enforce standards for coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Resolve complex technical and business-process challenges with practical engineering solutions.
- Lead technical projects from design through production deployment.
- Mentor developers and analysts, provide technical direction, and coordinate work across teams.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on software or application development experience focused on big data engineering, systems analysis, or distributed systems.
- Deep Java expertise and experience building large-scale, production-grade data applications.
- Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka and Apache Flink, or Apache Spark Streaming, for real-time streaming and event-driven architectures.
- Strong experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes and enterprise container platforms such as ECS or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Understanding of pod lifecycles, service networking, volume mounts, resource allocation, and container orchestration.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical projects through production deployment.
- Experience mentoring developers and coordinating technical delivery across teams.
- Clear communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Experience in financial services or enterprise environments is desirable.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, containerized deployment environments, data governance, compliance frameworks, or regulatory technology contexts is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree or university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline required; master’s degree preferred.
