Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality software solutions and application features across the full software development lifecycle.
- Build automation frameworks and automated tests supporting business objectives and requirements.
- Develop backend systems and maintain RESTful API services using Python or similar frameworks.
- Integrate with APIs, Kafka, MQ, TCP/IP, and file-based protocols.
- Perform system integration testing and UI/backend automation using frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, and DevTest.
- Work with authentication, caching, microservices, scalable architectures, and performance optimization.
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, effort estimation, and comprehensive test coverage.
- Design and develop solutions that protect customers and banking infrastructure and uplift CommBank’s cyber-security posture.
Requirements
- Hands-on programming experience with Java, Python, or TypeScript and experience building automation frameworks.
- Experience designing, building, and deploying software solutions or application features without supervision.
- Experience with API, Kafka, MQ, TCP/IP, and file-based protocols, plus Unix commands.
- Experience with system integration testing and UI/backend automation using Selenium, Playwright, DevTest, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with RDBMS such as Oracle and SQL or other data integration/ETL tools.
- Experience with source control systems such as GitHub and CI/CD tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience across the full SDLC, including design, development, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Git, Xcode, Fastlane, and TestFlight.
- Understanding of server-side concepts including authentication, caching, and microservices.
- Commitment to clean code, SOLID principles, scalable architectures, and reliable tooling.
