Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend applications primarily with Java and Spring Boot, using Django and Python as secondary technologies.
- Contribute to backend and frontend projects involving React, Kafka, GraphQL, SQL, and MongoDB.
- Own software development lifecycle activities including building, deploying, merging, and troubleshooting production code.
- Work autonomously across multiple projects, prioritize tasks, resolve technical challenges, and use data to investigate production issues.
Requirements
- Require 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Require strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot as the primary backend stack.
- Require experience with Django, Python, React, Kafka, GraphQL, SQL, and/or MongoDB.
- Require experience with software build and deployment processes.
- Require experience with at least one of Dagster, Data Lakes, or Amazon Athena.
- Seek senior-level ownership, autonomy, initiative, independent working ability, rapid ramp-up, and cross-project responsibility.
- Prefer product-manager experience supporting prioritization with go-to-market teams and engineers.
- Prefer experience with Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf and clear communication, strategic prioritization, comfort with ambiguity, and data-driven production troubleshooting.
