Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable APIs, libraries, and services for BitGo’s API-first platform.
- Own functionality and scalability features from inception through deployment and customer integration.
- Expose and document functionality for user interfaces, third-party developers, and internal and external tooling.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define, design, and ship features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code and ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, and implement technologies that improve development efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Mentor engineering peers through code reviews and education on best practices.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of backend and server-side development experience.
- Strong TypeScript, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB experience.
- Strong RESTful API design experience and familiarity with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
- Proficiency in algorithm design, problem solving, complexity analysis, unit and functional testing, and debugging.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or another technical discipline from a top university.
- Strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
- Preferred experience developing consumer-facing crypto products and production public-facing APIs.
- Preferred ability to work full-stack and familiarity with React.
- Preferred experience working with clients or business partners and familiarity with digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, or accounting systems.
Benefits
- Full-time onsite work at BitGo’s Toronto office.
- Base salary of $180,000 to $220,000 CAD, plus equity, an annual performance bonus, and benefits; benefits may vary by location.
