Base Salary
$87k - $157k/yr
Responsibilities
- Plan test strategies, design test cases, execute software tests, and make recommendations regarding product quality.
- Develop robust automated software test infrastructures and frameworks.
- Perform integration testing, informal manual testing, formal software qualification testing, fielding and support, and software product maintenance.
- Test and troubleshoot embedded or embedded-adjacent applications that interface with or support embedded systems.
- Review, edit, and generate engineering and testing documentation according to industry standards.
- Collaborate frequently with software developers and other team members, while learning from senior engineers and mentoring less experienced test engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or an equivalent technical degree, with an overall GPA of at least 3.0.
- At least 4 years of relevant technical experience with a bachelor's degree or 2 years with a master's degree.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
- Experience testing or troubleshooting embedded software or embedded-adjacent applications and performing software testing on multidisciplinary projects.
- Demonstrated experience implementing an automated software testing solution.
- Software development experience in C#, .NET, C, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby.
- Experience with automated testing on embedded systems, automated UI testing, applicable engineering standards, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, or microservices is preferred.
- Knowledge of MOSA principles, guidance and control algorithms, navigation systems, mission planning systems, relevant sensors, MBSE, SysML, hardware-software integration, and software systems engineering is preferred.
- Experience testing MATLAB/Simulink-generated code and Agile Scrum Master experience are preferred.
- Ability to work across multiple products and teams and communicate with senior leadership and government customers.
- Must reside in North Alabama or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville-North Alabama area.

- The position is based in the Leidos Huntsville, Alabama office; candidates outside North Alabama must be willing to relocate.
- The stated pay range is $87,100.00-$157,450.00.
