Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the architecture of Enpal’s internal platform, including long-term design and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Lead infrastructure automation and self-service tooling for deployment, provisioning, and operations across the engineering organization.
- Establish and drive adoption of standards for Kubernetes operations, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and infrastructure as code.
- Improve the internal developer experience through platform usability, reliability, documentation, and measurable engineering metrics.
- Mentor platform and junior engineers through coaching, pairing, design and code reviews, documentation, and feedback.
- Lead complex cross-team initiatives from scoping and design through rollout with minimal oversight.
- Identify and address platform risks, inefficiencies, technical debt, stability issues, performance concerns, and automation gaps.
- Partner with developers, operations, security, and leadership to translate organizational needs into platform solutions and roadmap priorities.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in platform, cloud, DevOps, or software engineering roles, including significant experience operating production systems at scale.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure, Kubernetes, and containerized applications, including designing and operating production-grade clusters.
- Deep experience with Terraform, CI/CD tooling, Helm, and observability tooling.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives end to end across multiple teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising a team’s technical standards through code review, design review, and documentation.
- Strong system design skills and the ability to evaluate reliability, scalability, security, and cost trade-offs.
- Clear spoken and written English communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- German language knowledge is a plus.
- Experience scaling platform teams, monitoring and alerting, incident response, on-call ownership, postmortems, open-source infrastructure contributions, or regulated and compliance-sensitive environments is preferred but not required.
