Responsibilities
- Design, build, troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain platform hardware, software, networks, and environments.
- Manage and configure DevOps tools and automated fulfillment mechanisms to support platform services and production delivery.
- Collaborate with DevOps engineering and production teams to update and maintain platforms and bring new features and services into production.
- Coordinate work across teams operating within the target platform and manage relevant vendor relationships.
- Identify and mitigate security threats and develop security, resiliency, backup, and disaster recovery policies and procedures.
- Produce high-level design documentation and conduct technical research for new or modified systems and problem resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and five years of experience as a Java/J2EE Developer, Software Engineer, Platform Engineer, or related professional.
- Alternatively, no degree and seven years of experience as a Java/J2EE Developer, Software Engineer, Platform Engineer, or related professional.
- Five years of experience in platform engineering and infrastructure components.
- Experience with automated interaction with physical infrastructure and with managing cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with monitoring and log management tools such as Nagios, Splunk, and ELK.
- Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Terraform.
- Experience with software packaging and deployment, operating systems, network operations and services, containerization, monitoring and logging, and integration technology.
