Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based real-time processing components.
- Implement and maintain message-driven integrations using MQ, Kafka, and APIs.
- Process ISO 20022 payment messages, including pacs.008, pacs.002, and camt messages.
- Own user stories through analysis, development, testing, release, and production support.
- Participate in incident analysis, root-cause investigations, and production improvements.
- Contribute to performance, resilience, scalability, and security requirements.
- Collaborate with SREs, product owners, and global engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with ING IT risk, audit, and security requirements.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies and demonstrate delivered functionality to stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Java development experience, including Java 17 and Java 21.
- Working knowledge or exposure to Kafka.
- Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot.
- Experience with CI/CD tools; the team will use AzDO.
- Some experience with XML, XSL, and XSD.
- Experience with TDD and BDD.
- Strong analysis and communication skills, with openness to feedback.
- Experience with Scrum and a preference for agile ways of working.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an IT-related field is preferred, not required.
- Knowledge of ISO 20022 standards, financial market group treasury projects, and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana is nice to have.
