Base Salary

$250k - $338k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead AvionX’s software engineering organization and serve as the highest software technical authority across airborne software programs.
  • Own software architecture coherence, integrity, DO-178C/LOR compliance, and certification closure across commercial and defense platforms.
  • Direct the design, development, testing, debugging, maintenance, verification, and certification of embedded software.
  • Translate customer requirements into embedded software product designs and ensure requirements traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide technical leadership for embedded software project management, hardware-software integration, and system-level safety objectives.
  • Advise management and influence company approaches to embedded software, hardware integration, technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations.
  • Oversee embedded software efficiency, stability, supplier performance, and compliance with project plans and industry standards.
  • Enable enterprise software engineering practices and processes to be implemented across AvionX programs.
  • Consult on embedded software code running on specialized hardware and provide integration consultation for hardware components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance requiring U.S. citizenship, with an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance required post-start.
  • 15+ years of programming experience in C/C++.
  • 10+ years of experience developing embedded systems software with Wind River Systems VxWorks, DDC-I Deos, or Green Hills Software Integrity RTOS.
  • 10+ years of experience using Matlab/Simulink.
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded software development, verification, or certification.
  • Preferred backgrounds include a relevant Bachelor of Science degree with 20+ years of related experience, a bachelor’s degree with 24+ years of directly related experience, or 28+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of software architecture, design methodologies, real-time systems, certification processes, requirements traceability, testing, supplier assessment, hardware-software integration, and engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, networking protocols, operating systems, databases, software development tools, testing tools, and real-time development tools.
  • Ability to communicate across technical disciplines, solve engineering problems, manage project deliverables, and evaluate supplier capability and risk.
