Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end biometric solution implementations, including data models, use cases, roles, permissions, assumptions, risks, and technical decisions.
- Write efficient migration code, custom tools, automation, and tooling for moving and analyzing real customer data.
- Own the technical side of customer projects from conception through deployment and serve as the customer's primary technical counterpart.
- Run migrations, quality analyses, deduplication analyses, gap analyses, sizing exercises, proofs of concept, and technical acceptance activities.
- Debug complex integration problems and integrate solutions with third-party platforms.
- Deliver customer training and explain technical analyses, diagrams, reports, and decisions to business and technical audiences.
- Run multiple implementations in parallel and contribute project learnings to the product roadmap.
Requirements
- Recent hands-on programming experience in at least one mainstream language such as Java, C#, Python, Go, or a similar language.
- Working SQL skills, ability to read unfamiliar schemas, and comfort analyzing real datasets.
- Ability to turn customer needs into scope, assumptions, risks, and solution designs under uncertainty.
- Ability to communicate what is in scope, out of scope, and changed, including presenting options and saying no when necessary.
- Strong spoken and written English communication, including analyses, diagrams, and presentations.
- University degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, or similar; a business or economics degree is acceptable with real hands-on engineering experience.
- Flexibility and willingness to take short business trips to customers.
- Experience with Kotlin, cloud platforms, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, Keycloak, REST API integration, message queues, or CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
- Exposure to biometric solutions, platforms or SDKs; criminal case management; document issuance; ICAO interchange formats; technical workshops; or conference talks is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Malaysian is useful, and Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin, or another world language is a plus.
