Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve scalable, maintainable, and high-performing software solutions.
- Build and integrate microservices, RESTful APIs, web services, and event-driven applications.
- Lead technical design discussions, participate in code reviews, and mentor development teams.
- Deliver features end to end in collaboration with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Implement unit testing, secure coding practices, performance tuning, scalability, security, and resiliency patterns.
- Contribute to technical innovation, modernization initiatives, engineering standards, risk management, and control improvements.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with Core Java 17+, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with microservices architectures using JPA, Hibernate, and Spring Data.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins, and source control tools including Git and Bitbucket.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, software engineering practices, application performance, scalability, security, and resiliency.
- Experience leading technical discussions, code reviews, and development-team mentoring.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments with end-to-end feature ownership.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, stakeholder communication, and technical leadership skills.
- 8+ years of professional experience.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or Barclays Cloud Platform; Kafka or IBM MQ; Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift; Liquibase; distributed systems; event-driven architecture; domain-driven design; Jira; banking or financial services; and Splunk, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
