Responsibilities
- Deliver CodeQL-powered analysis across GitHub.com and GitHub Enterprise Server production environments.
- Own published artifacts and deployed services while providing production operations and incident response.
- Build and operate internal CI pipelines and development platforms for CodeQL and AI engineers.
- Improve offline evaluation tooling to shorten iteration cycles and reduce release risk.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and technical writing teams to influence product direction and deliver user-facing features.
- Engage with enterprise customers, internal users, and the open-source community to help them succeed with code scanning products.
- Contribute to organizational culture, processes, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline with production software development experience; equivalent degree-and-experience pathways are also accepted.
- Alternatively, an associate degree with at least 5 years, a bachelor's degree with at least 4 years, or a master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience; a doctorate or equivalent experience also qualifies.
- Production software development experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
- At least 3 years of experience in software security, DevOps, CI solutions, orchestration and automation frameworks, software supply chain security, developer tools, software lifecycle automation, or machine learning and AI applied to source-code understanding.
- Preferred experience includes two or more of the listed focus areas, DevOps or DevEx engineering, and designing and operating software lifecycle management or developer productivity tools.
