Responsibilities
- Process and analyze terabytes of advertising data with sub-second query performance.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL and data processing pipelines for batch and real-time analytics.
- Develop backend APIs and microservices using Python or Go.
- Architect data flows, data models, and scalable data processing workflows.
- Build and manage analytics dashboards and data visualizations for complex business insights.
- Implement monitoring and alerting to detect data quality issues and maintain high availability and accuracy.
- Manage AWS infrastructure with Terraform and implement CI/CD automation practices.
- Lead complex data engineering projects from requirements gathering through delivery.
- Collaborate with analysts, product managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Mentor team members, present technical concepts, challenge requirements constructively, and serve as a knowledge leader.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code with comprehensive testing.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of data engineering experience and a proven record of leading complex data projects from conception to delivery.
- Exceptional communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Redshift, and EMR.
- Proficiency with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
- Strong Python experience for data processing services and APIs, plus expert-level SQL skills.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of clean coding practices, comprehensive testing, and analytics/reporting requirements.
- Experience designing scalable data architectures, data modeling, and optimizing data processing workflows.
- Experience creating and managing analytics dashboards with Tableau, Qlik Sense, Quicksuite, or Power BI.
- Experience with contextual and prompt engineering using GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar AI assistants is beneficial.
