Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of one or more Scrum teams while actively contributing to Java codebases.
- Architect and build scalable, containerized Java Spring Boot microservices and cloud-native applications.
- Design and implement high-performance APIs integrating new platforms with enterprise control systems.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers on React and Angular micro-frontend applications.
- Own key features end to end from architecture and technical specifications through implementation and deployment.
- Pilot and integrate AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
- Mentor engineers on software design, containerization, and modern development workflows.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with a record of building robust backend systems.
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud-native application development.
- Experience leading technical projects or serving as a technical lead for a development team.
- Understanding of software architecture, microservice design patterns, and API development best practices.
- Interest in or experience using AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience in Financial Services or another large, complex global environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with React and Angular is a significant plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
