Responsibilities
- Define and own Hyland’s organization-wide performance engineering strategy and customer-representative benchmark approach.
- Establish performance SLOs, scalability envelopes, latency targets, throughput targets, and infrastructure recommendations based on real ECM usage patterns.
- Analyze telemetry and performance data to identify bottlenecks, architectural risks, optimization opportunities, and resource-allocation inefficiencies.
- Apply machine learning to anomaly detection, predictive bottleneck identification, automated root-cause analysis, and intelligent test generation.
- Create shared performance frameworks and partner with feature teams to identify scalability risks during design reviews and validate changes at production scale.
- Coach engineers on performance profiling, load generation, and building diagnosable systems.
- Maintain performance documentation such as baselines, runbooks, and scalability trade-off explainers.
- Support CI/CD-integrated benchmark pipelines, automated regression detection, and proactive performance protection for customers.
Requirements
- 10+ years defining performance strategy at enterprise scale.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, capacity planning, architectural bottleneck analysis, and production-representative benchmarking.
- Experience benchmarking multi-tenant or high-scale platforms and building reproducible benchmarks at scale.
- Mastery of Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, Terraform, and distributed-system profiling tools.
- Applied experience using ML/AI for performance analysis, including anomaly detection, predictive modeling, and intelligent test generation.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executives, product managers, customer-facing teams, and multiple engineering organizations.
- SRE background with hands-on SLO definition and operational defense is preferred.
- Experience maintaining performance documentation and CI/CD-integrated benchmark pipelines is preferred.
- Exposure to AI workload benchmarking, including LLM inference performance, GPU utilization, and serving-system scalability, is preferred.
