Base Salary
$190k - $228k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, testing, and evolution of critical software systems across cloud infrastructure, mobile applications, and internal tools.
- Build features and systems for customers, installers, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Own and grow data pipelines and cloud systems supporting fleet visibility, analytics, and virtual power plant programs.
- Partner with hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and product teams to integrate software with real devices and real-world workflows.
- Refine requirements while balancing user needs, complexity, reliability, and maintainability.
- Partner with engineering leadership on technical direction and prioritization.
- Support mobile releases and QA through automation and repeatable processes.
- Lead by example through high-quality code, thoughtful design, code reviews, and strong engineering practices.
- Mentor engineers through hands-on collaboration.
- Support operational needs, including occasional on-call incident response outside normal business hours.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, ideally including experience at a small or growing startup.
- Ability to independently drive large, ambiguous technical problems from definition through execution.
- Strong experience designing and building cloud-based systems, including distributed systems and data pipelines, using AWS or similar.
- Experience with TypeScript and/or Python, React-based frontends, SQL, and database-backed systems.
- Experience building production-quality systems with an emphasis on reliability, automated testing, and long-term ownership.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work across engineering, operations, and non-technical teams.
- Ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs and take responsibility for outcomes.
- Bonus: React Native or mobile application development experience.
- Bonus: Experience with Agile/Scrum teams, IoT-connected systems, device data, embedded software concepts such as C/C++, protobufs, RPC frameworks, event-driven architectures, or hardware companies.
