Base Salary
$102k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build Windows platform capabilities connecting PCs with printers, cameras, Bluetooth accessories, and mobile connectivity devices.
- Design, implement, test, validate, and release new capabilities, security fixes, and reliability improvements.
- Write secure, maintainable, and well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Use debuggers, automated tests, logs, traces, telemetry, and diagnostic techniques for validation, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Apply insights from design reviews, incident investigations, reliability exercises, and debriefs to improve platform components.
- Collaborate with Windows and partner engineers to review designs, resolve complex issues, share knowledge, and maintain code quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of software development or design experience is preferred.
- Proven coding skills in C/C++ or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience with AI technology adoption in development is preferred.
- Experience with Windows debugging using WinDbg and/or Visual Studio Debugger is preferred.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud background-check and applicable customer or government security-screening requirements.
- Strong systematic problem-solving, debugging, root-cause analysis, design, development, prioritization, and learning abilities are preferred.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is $102,100-$202,200 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range of $133,800-$219,200 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
