Responsibilities
- Design, build, debug, and test embedded software for Pod’s hardware platforms.
- Own software features end-to-end across new and existing products, contributing to system architecture.
- Collaborate with electronics engineers on new designs, system adaptations, and hardware-related diagnosis.
- Integrate peripherals and IoT connectivity technologies in an embedded Linux environment.
- Contribute to technical design documentation, version control, CI/CD, and broader engineering quality practices.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, coaching, and team planning.
- Investigate complex hardware-software issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
- Support the full product lifecycle from early development through release and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of embedded software engineering experience, ideally in consumer IoT or connected devices.
- Strong understanding of system design, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with Embedded Linux, including Yocto, device tree, and system-level components is desirable.
- Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust for low-level systems programming is desirable.
- Experience with boards, SDKs, toolchains, debugging environments, and platform bring-up is desirable.
- Knowledge of EV standards and protocols including IEC 61851, ISO 15118, and OCPP is desirable.
- Experience building CI systems, including hardware-in-the-loop and software testing, is desirable.
- Familiarity with EN 303 645 and EN 18031 IoT cybersecurity standards is desirable.
- Strong communication, organization, delivery focus, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
