Responsibilities
- Shape and solution complex agentic AI pursuits and translate client needs into architectures and delivery approaches.
- Lead architecture and hands-on design of production-grade multi-agent systems, including orchestration, tool use, memory, retrieval, evaluation, observability, and enterprise integration.
- Establish reusable governance, auditability, traceability, safeguard, and engineering patterns for reliable agentic AI systems.
- Provide technical and delivery leadership across complex multidisciplinary programmes and manage technical risk.
- Set technical direction and engineering standards across multiple teams and initiatives.
- Guide evaluation, testing, CI/CD, reliability, cost, and performance practices for agentic AI delivery.
- Partner with product, data, software engineering, enterprise architecture, governance, and change specialists.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leads and raise agentic AI capability across the engineering community.
- Evaluate emerging agentic AI technologies and frameworks and guide responsible adoption.
- Represent Thoughtworks in strategic client conversations, industry forums, partnerships, and thought leadership.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in modern software engineering and Python.
- Recognised experience architecting and delivering complex GenAI and agentic AI systems at enterprise scale from discovery through production deployment.
- Deep knowledge of agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, LlamaIndex, or equivalent.
- Strong expertise in Retrieval-Augmented Generation, advanced information retrieval, vector databases, and enterprise knowledge integration.
- Experience designing evaluation strategies covering quality, safety, reliability, latency, and cost.
- Strong understanding of AI governance, guardrails, red-teaming, observability, responsible AI, and secure deployment.
- Significant experience deploying AI systems on major cloud platforms using containers, orchestration, and production-grade infrastructure patterns.
- Experience with prompt and context engineering, fine-tuning where appropriate, and application-level performance optimisation.
- Ability to make architecture trade-offs across model capability, reliability, security, compliance, performance, and cost.
- Proven ability to lead C-suite and senior client engagements and advise on business and technical decisions.
- Strong consulting and commercial judgement, including shaping high-value opportunities and contributing to pipeline conversion.
- Ability to lead AI maturity assessments, prioritise processes for agentization, and connect architecture choices to business value and ROI.
- Executive communication skills for explaining complex AI concepts, risks, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven leadership of complex delivery across multidisciplinary teams and ability to influence without formal authority.
- Proven ability to mentor senior engineers and technical leaders and raise standards across a wider engineering community.
