Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own edge capture devices from board bring-up and on-device software through field-ready physical form factors.
- Configure embedded Linux platforms, including flashing, kernel and device tree configuration, camera enablement, and driver troubleshooting.
- Build capture pipelines for synchronized video, audio, and sensor telemetry with reliable sustained operation.
- Design graceful degradation for denied, disrupted, intermittent, and limited-bandwidth environments using local buffering and store-and-forward delivery.
- Integrate and synchronize depth cameras, stereo cameras, inertial measurement units, positioning receivers, and other sensors.
- Convert development kits and COTS components into fieldable units while addressing enclosure, mounting, power, and thermal constraints.
- Produce bills of materials, assembly instructions, test procedures, design documentation, and test-result presentations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on development in C, C++, and Python on resource-constrained devices.
- Strong embedded Linux experience on ARM-based systems-on-chip, including NVIDIA Jetson, device tree configuration, and CSI camera enablement.
- Experience integrating development kits and COTS components into deployed devices, including packaging, power, and mounting considerations.
- Experience building edge systems that capture and manage camera, IMU, GNSS, environmental, vehicle telemetry, or other physical sensor data.
- Experience designing reliable systems for limited connectivity, including local storage, buffering, retries, store-and-forward workflows, and eventual cloud delivery.
- Expertise with video capture and encoding pipelines using GStreamer, V4L2, hardware-accelerated H.264 and H.265 encoding, and RTSP or WebRTC transport.
- Experience synchronizing and calibrating sensors, including IMUs and GNSS receivers, with timestamp alignment across streams.
- Experience delivering media and telemetry to cloud services using object storage, resumable uploads, chunked uploads, and retry behavior.
- Working knowledge of power budgeting, battery systems, and thermal management in compact devices.
- Ability to work with limited direction in an evolving innovation environment and communicate designs and test results to engineering and customer audiences.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
