Responsibilities
- Develop and implement scalable and performant backend solutions.
- Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and stakeholders to develop and execute technical roadmaps.
- Act as a trusted technical decision-maker focused on short-term and long-term business value.
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and data ingestion systems.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of data systems and infrastructure.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and conduct thorough pull request reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology, or higher, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience working with SQL or another database querying language on large multi-table datasets.
- At least 4 years of experience building backend applications as an engineer on cross-functional teams.
- At least 2 years of experience serving as a trusted technical decision-maker in a team setting.
- At least 2 years of experience coaching other engineers.
- Preferred qualifications include extensive data engineering experience with Databricks and data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Preferred qualifications include at least 3 years of experience with backend languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with large datasets, database systems, data storage, Kafka-based pipelines, database replication, sharding, Docker, and Kubernetes.
