Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based automated test frameworks and reusable automation components.
- Improve existing automation frameworks, execution processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Build and maintain automated testing pipelines using Git, GitLab CI/CD, or equivalent tooling.
- Review requirements with business analysts, developers, and product owners to improve clarity, testability, and automation readiness.
- Plan, develop, and execute automated and manual tests for ASX Trade and related market-platform changes.
- Validate market data, order flow, and interface behavior across FIX, ITCH, and OUCH protocols.
- Support system, system integration, regression, end-to-end, parallel, operational-readiness, and production-verification testing.
- Prepare test data, manage environment dependencies, and troubleshoot execution issues across Linux/Unix and integrated environments.
- Document test results, produce release evidence, and support release sign-off.
- Log, investigate, and report defects with clear impact, severity, evidence, and reproducibility details.
- Communicate test status, risks, and issues across technical and business teams.
- Contribute to automation standards, engineering practices, and continuous-improvement initiatives within the QE&T Community of Practice.
Requirements
- 7–9 years of automation testing experience, including API and integration testing across different protocols.
- Strong Java automation experience building reusable libraries, utilities, and maintainable frameworks.
- Working knowledge of Python and the ability to extend or support Python-based frameworks.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, clean coding practices, and framework design patterns.
- Experience with Cucumber, Gherkin, and behavior-driven test automation.
- Experience with system, system integration, regression, end-to-end, parallel, and release-verification testing.
- Hands-on experience with CI tools, CI/CD pipelines, setup, maintenance, and execution monitoring.
- Experience using Git, GitLab, or equivalent source-control and branching tools.
- Strong Linux/Unix command-line and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience coordinating test environments, preparing test data, and managing execution dependencies.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence for test management, defect management, and project documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt within medium to large project teams.
- Financial-markets, exchange, electronic-trading, market-infrastructure, FIX, ITCH, OUCH, trading-platform, or broker-trading experience is desirable.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native test execution, performance or resilience testing, JMeter, Gatling, observability, service virtualization, API mocking, or test-data automation is desirable.
