$59k - $74k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable backend solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to software development teams.
- Drive technical decisions, engineering best practices, and technical strategy.
- Ensure code quality through reviews, standards enforcement, and mentoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise solutions.
- Support performance optimization, scalability, reliability, and security initiatives.
- Drive project delivery within Agile environments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in backend architecture, design, and development.
- Proficiency in Core Java, Spring Boot, Vert.x, reactive programming, distributed systems, and backend software architecture.
- Experience with Oracle Database, MySQL, Cassandra, NoSQL databases, and Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams, mentoring and coaching engineers, and making architectural decisions.
- Experience managing stakeholder expectations and project deliverables.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with American Express projects or environments and knowledge of the OneAMEX platform, processes, or ecosystem.
- Preferred experience building highly scalable cloud-native enterprise applications and working with financial services or payment processing systems.
