Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Guidewire’s application platform, primarily focusing on backend services.
- Build platform services and APIs with attention to quality, scalability, availability, and security.
- Apply agentic coding tools and automation to accelerate software development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient platform operations.
- Support and mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with a track record in system design and building platform services.
- Experience with coding agents and automation tools.
- Strong proficiency in at least one of Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python, with the ability to learn other languages.
- Experience building APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
