Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Guidewire’s application platform, primarily focusing on backend services.
- Build core services that support developer experience and platform operations.
- Use agentic coding tools and automation to accelerate software development.
- Engineer for quality, scalability, availability, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient platform operations.
- Support and mentor junior engineers.
- Contribute to AI and cloud adoption, platform reliability, customer value, and new product launches.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience.
- A strong track record in system design and building platform services.
- Experience with coding agents and automation tools.
- Strong proficiency in at least one of Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python, with the ability to adapt to other languages.
- Experience building APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
