Responsibilities
- Partner with account managers to gather customer requirements, identify opportunities, and provide pre-sales technical systems engineering support.
- Conduct whiteboard network architecture reviews and product presentations for data center, campus, Wi-Fi, automation, security, endpoint security, and network monitoring solutions.
- Architect, design, and propose data center and campus networks using leaf-spine architectures, VxLAN, EVPN, and network overlays.
- Perform hands-on testing to validate customer proof-of-concept setups, network designs, deployments, products, and features.
- Create network design guidelines, recommend improvements, respond to RFPs and RFQs, and provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
- Represent Arista at SDN and Open Networking events, monitor competitive solutions, and author technology and product white papers.
Requirements
- BE, BS, CS, or CE technical degree required.
- Minimum 10+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience focused on data center and campus networks.
- Expert routing and switching expertise, including L2/L3 protocols and experience with Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, or Aruba.
- Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer preferred.
- Expert knowledge in at least three listed areas, including Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, EVPN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, or QoS.
- Expert-level knowledge of industry-standard CLI.
- Network industry certification such as CCIE (R&S) or JNCIE preferred.
- Network overlay experience preferred; SDN and NFV experience highly desired.
- Experience building network automation with Python and Ansible desired.
- Knowledge of competitive products, solutions, and services and the ability to write white papers are valued.
