Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot.
- Build Kafka-based event-driven architectures for transactions, market data, and client activities.
- Develop SQL, MySQL, and PL/SQL data access solutions for portfolio management, analytics, and reporting.
- Design and deploy resilient, secure, and highly available applications using AWS cloud services.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with stakeholders, product owners, analysts, architects, and technology teams.
- Modernize legacy applications by migrating functionality to cloud-native microservices architectures.
- Implement unit, integration, and API testing and participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Monitor and optimize application performance using logging, metrics, and observability tools.
- Apply secure coding practices to protect financial data and support regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong Java 17 and object-oriented programming expertise.
- Proven experience developing microservices and RESTful APIs with Spring Boot.
- Strong knowledge of Kafka, event-driven architectures, and distributed system design patterns.
- Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, relational database design, and performance tuning.
- Experience designing and deploying applications in AWS environments.
- Understanding of software development best practices, version control, automated testing, CI/CD, and code reviews.
- Experience with asset and wealth management domains, including portfolios, orders, positions, reporting, and client servicing workflows.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with distributed global teams.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications into cloud-native microservices architectures is preferred.
- Knowledge of wealth or investment management platforms, JavaScript, front-end integration, observability tools, security and compliance requirements, AWS certifications, or large-scale enterprise environments is beneficial.
