Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software systems that use energy IoT devices and utility data to support cleaner and more resilient electric grids.
- Build and operate data ingestion, management, and telemetry pipelines for utility systems, energy, and weather data.
- Lead system design, identify technical roadblocks, coordinate dependencies and tradeoffs, and delegate work across engineering teams.
- Develop integrations, APIs, and tools for energy markets, grid-balancing systems, hardware manufacturers, and third-party enterprise software.
- Collaborate with analytics and machine learning teams to deliver data insights and optimize virtual power plants.
- Improve pipeline scale, automation, and reliability while introducing team-wide engineering tools, techniques, and practices.
- Resolve novel technical, operational, and organizational challenges and mentor early-career and senior engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Required experience with Python and SQL.
- Experience building data pipelines and ELT/ETL systems.
- Experience with data warehouses, including Snowflake, and data modeling.
- Ability to lead system design and architecture independently.
- Preferred experience designing and building data pipelines within an electric utility.
- Preferred familiarity with Airflow, dbt, AWS Kinesis, and S3.
- Experience with Java or MongoDB is preferred.
- Experience with Sigma, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools is preferred.
