Responsibilities
- Design, operate, scale, troubleshoot, and maintain a multi-tenant distributed observability stack using Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, Kubernetes, and Grafana Alloy.
- Manage telemetry ingestion, including metrics scraping, log processing, distributed tracing export, high-cardinality data, retention, and compactor rules.
- Deploy and reconcile multi-cluster applications declaratively with ArgoCD, including ApplicationSets, synchronization policies, and rollback strategies.
- Design and optimize reusable GitLab CI/CD pipelines, custom runners, testing stages, and deployment triggers.
- Automate cloud infrastructure, object storage, and Kubernetes resources using Terraform and Helm.
- Support shared platform services including Keycloak IAM integration and Backstage developer onboarding.
- Monitor platform health and establish alerting and service-level objectives.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, documentation, troubleshooting, and automation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles.
- Extensive production experience running, troubleshooting, scaling, and maintaining workloads, StatefulSets, and DaemonSets.
- Hands-on experience operating and querying the LGTM observability stack, including Loki with LogQL and Mimir or Prometheus with PromQL.
- Experience with distributed tracing using Tempo and OpenTelemetry standards.
- Experience with Grafana Alloy or comparable collectors such as OpenTelemetry Collector or Promtail.
- Understanding of high cardinality, multi-tenancy, and object-storage lifecycles for metrics and logs.
- Experience managing declarative multi-cluster applications with ArgoCD.
- Ability to build .gitlab-ci.yml pipelines, configure custom runners, and structure CI stages for containerized tooling.
- Proficiency writing modular Terraform and packaging applications with Helm.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
- Strong automation skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
- Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Preferred experience with Dependency-Track, SBOM governance, Backstage service catalogs and templates, Keycloak administration, OIDC/OAuth2, and realm configuration.
